How and where to oil a blade (plus video)

To properly oil a dog clipper blade, start by brushing any loose hair from the blade. Attach the blade securely to your clippers and turn them on. Apply just five drops of clipper blade oil while the clippers are running—three drops across the top of the blade, directly onto the teeth, and one drop on each back rail. Allow the oil to distribute evenly by keeping the clippers running for a few seconds. Once distributed, turn off the clippers and wipe off any excess oil with a clean cloth.

Remember to reapply oil after coolant use or cleaning and before storage to prevent rust. It's important to use oil specifically made for clipper blades and to use it sparingly, as a little goes a long way.
